Notes:
The Tarot of the Golden Serpent is a work in progress. This is an edition of the Majors only, but eventually it will become a full deck of 78 cards. The images for the cards are created as a series of oil paintings. The Major Arcana are 18x24, but the not yet existing Court Cards and Minors are planned as paintings on smaller canvases.

For each of the cards Sebastian Haines has worked out a set of images which he constructs within a symmetric structure. The symbolism is taken from alchemy and western ceremonial magic.

For the fool Hains took inspiration from a Gnostic amulet found in Budges Amulets and Talismans. The amulet depicts Harpocrates riding in a boat with the heads of Horus and Anubis at either end.

As in the Thoth deck, the empress is pregnant to emphasize the nature of Venus (ruling Taurus), but also express reproduction as a universal principle. She is chained to Taurus as an expression of materialization - energy becoming form. There is also a reference to the myth of Europa. On the Strength card the smoldering black shards were making a reference to the Qlippoth.

The Tarot of the Golden Serpent is a limited edition of 50 signed and numbered copies. The cardstock is thin, the backs are blank and the deck came in an old CD case instead of a box. There is no LWB.

Margaret Parrott is a retired teacher and artist. She has created two decks of playing cards, one with Pueblo Kachinas on the face cards and the other with Northwest Coastal Native American masks and in collaboration with her son, the songwriter Thom Parrott, she created the 82 card Parrott Tarot.

Each Major Arcana card has the card number in the upper left corner and in the bottom left border. The bottom border also has the Astrological correspondence, the Hebrew letter, the card name, the path on the Tree of Life, and a musical scale with the corresponding note and a Parrot.The musical notes in the major arcana are Paul Foster Case’s notes that accompany the majors in his teachings.

The Court Cards have the associated playing card symbol in the upper left corner. The bottom border has the astrological correspondence, the elemental correspondence, the name of the card and a Parrot. The Minor Arcana have the same information plus a keyword, which is the same key word as in the Thoth Tarot. The deck has an additional court card called "the Mentor", which is placed between the Prince and the Queen.

Mini Rosetta Tarot

The Mini Rosetta  came in a tin with a double sided satin ribbon. The tin has a tyvek silica gel insert that cushions the decks in the tin (hidden by the ribbon) and also protects the deck and tin from humidity.

The cards are approximately 3 1/4 by 2 1/8  inches and there is no LWB. It is a signed and numbered edition of 555. Some of the decks have a red satin ribbon wrap, the others a blue one. Mine is number 18 and is a blue variant. It is one of the first 22 sold that means it has a significator customized with my name in hieroglyphs, later sold decks just include an insert with hieroglyphs and directions how to self customize.

There also is included a leather pouch for the deck, which hold the cards safely together not too tight and not too loose.That  is to prevent that the tin gets scratched up from carrying it.

This time the significator card is printed on the same stock as the rest of the deck and  just  the name in hieroglyphs added manually. My name is written a little bit different from the significator card that came with the full-sized deck. Maybe vowels at the beginning are optional in hieroglyphic language.

The German record producer Rolf-Ulrich Kaiser-who called himself Sun Courier - founder of the label Kosmische Musik, hired the artist Peter Geitner to design a Tarot for his wife, Gille Lettman, also known as Sternenmädchen. 

It is a Major Arcana only deck with 3 additional cards: "game rules", a mail-in card, and a copyright card with publishing information and a greeting from Gille.

 The oversized cards came in a cardboard box with clear plastic lid. The card titles are in German, some cards are renamed.

The card for the Lovers is the cover to the album Mythos' Dreamlab .

In 1973 Kosmische Musik released an album by Walter Wegmüller called  Tarot, which was packaged with the first edition of Wegmüller's Zigeuner Tarot .

Vanessa Decort  has worked as an illustrator for children's books and that's what the artwork is like - with the exception that  there are no faces on any of the figures in the deck.

The Major Arcana have traditional titles, Justice as VIII and Strength as XI. Each Major Arcana card shows the associated Hebrew letter and displays the Roman numeral at the top of the card and the title on the bottom of the card.  Some of the Majors have two titles (Death/Rebirth, Art/Temperance, and Aeon/Judgment).

The color coded suits are Wands (Fire/Spiritual) showing a dark background, with bright orange flames at the bottom of the card, Cups (Water/Emotional) with blue sky and green water, Swords (Air/Rational) showing a light blue background and Pentacles (Earth/Material) with reddish-gold in the upper part of the card and green at the bottom. The Court Cards are Princess, Prince, Queen and King. The Pip cards depart from strict Thoth imagery in that they carry both suit icons and small scenes, along with their elemental symbols. They have a key word at the top of the card, and the number and suit on the bottom of the card.

The reversible backs show a  gray and white mandala on a black background .

This deck was printed in 1994 as an edition of 250 copies for the Musée Lilim in France. In Kaplan’s Encyclopedia it was called the Cathar Tarot and listed as unpublished . In 2006 Adam McLean obtained the remaining stock from the artist, reboxed the decks and sold them as No.9 in his Artwork Tarot Series.

The images for this Tarot were abstract watercolor paintings by Rosetta Woolf  based on the spiritual and cultural history of the Mediterranean and dedicated to the myth of Lilith and her children, known as the Lilim. The cards are a little longer ( 6.25 by 3.25 inches) than a standard size deck .

The original, large-format (8,5 cm x 15,5 cm) printing of Herman Haindl's  tarot was published by Droemer Knaur in 1988 as a German only version. Mine is a 2002 reprint of this version  by Lotus . There also was a smaller edition by US Games in 1990.

The Haindl Tarot has non-traditional imagery and is strongly influenced by the Crowley-Harris Thoth Tarot. There is a complicated system of correspondence, each of the Majors has been given Qabalistic, runic and astrological designators.

The Minors represent South and ancient Egypt (swords), East and Hinduism (wands), North and ancient Norse/Celtic Europe (cups) and West and Native America (stones). Each of the numbered Minors includes an I Ching hexagramm. The court cards are father, mother, son and daughter. The inner borders are white for air, blue for water, red for fire and yellow for earth.

The central theme of this deck, as reported by Rachel Pollack, is "the renewal of the Earth - not just the material resources, but the spiritual Earth."

Liber T Tarot of Stars Enternal

Notes:
The deck creator, Roberto Negrini, is an Italian Crowley expert. The artist, Andrea Serio, is widely known for his work on the Dante Tarot. The Liber T is a modern redendering of the images from the Crowley-Harris-Thoth but do not contain the emphasis on projective geometry that characterizes the Harris paintings.

Serio’s artistic reinterpretation has lost some of the symbolism in the Thoth images, especially the Golden Dawn color scale correspondences. 

The Minor Arcana are also illustrated, using imagery compiled by Negrini (a  member of the Italian O.T.O.) based on his study of the Decanates.

The booklet attributes these Decans to the Egyptian Star Cult and gives them the name of SIBU SEPESU, or Eternal Stars -- hence the deck’s title. They are primarily derived from the Decan descriptions provided in the Liber Hermetis with a strong overlay of Thelemic-influenced Egyptian mythology and hints of the Ars Memoria. The minor arcana have four suits: Cups, Spheres (Disks), Scepters (Wands) and Swords.

The deck is intended to be as the mad old wizard Whateley might have consulted prior to calling forth Yog-Sothoth, or perhaps the same as the ones Keziah Mason kept on the shelf alongside her flesh-bound copy of the Necronomicon.

The cards are bigger than usual (3-1/2" by 5" ). The artwork is pen and ink on Bristol board. It is a not numbered  "limited" edition of 1000.

Trump card titles (and order) are those of the RWS (except for The Magus), Suits are the same as RWS (Wands, Cups, Swords, Pentacles), Courts are a hybrid (King, Queen, Prince, Princess), Pips are titled after Thoth: Dominion, Virtue, etc.

For the most part, the attributions of Hebrew letters and astrological symbols on the Azathoth's Trumps are the same as those used in the Thoth, but there are a few exceptions. All of the minors on the Azathoth have printed Hebrew letters and astrological symbols .

Thoth Tarot

Crowley referred to this deck as The Book of Thoth, and also wrote a book of that title intended for use with the deck. Crowley originally planned the Thoth deck to be a six-month project aimed at updating the traditional pictorial symbolism of the tarot. However, the project was to span five years, between 1938 and 1943. The deck was not published in the lifetimes of either Aleister Crowley or Lady Frieda Harris, the deck was only available as illustrations in Crowley's book from a limited edition of 200 copies -dated March 21 , 1944 - that Lady Frieda Harris herself had printed.

The first full publication -of inferior quality- was by Samuel Weiser  in 1969; There was another limited edition of 250  of equal poor quality in the same year by Ordo Templi Orientis / Simpson printing company. That edition was also known as the Sangreal One-Color-Tarot. The illustrations were photographed from  copy 105 of the  limited edition and printed on blue ink on the front and red ink on the backs. In 1977 Harris' paintings were rephotographed for a second edition. A further update with new photography took place in 1986, while this "Purple Box"- edition is based on a revision of the update and was first printed in 1996 and reprinted 2006. The deck comes in a standard cardboard box, showing the Two of Pentacles card surrounded by a purple border.

Card suit ("Trumps" for the majors) printed in large, light letters, with card title (majors, courts) or keyword (minors) superimposed in dark, small-size type. Titles on the majors are flanked by a Hebrew letter on the left, and an alchemical or astrological symbol on the right. This is the only edition that still retains the inclusion of the three variants of the "Magus" card. The LWB was edited and updated by Lynn Araujo, and includes two essays written by Lady Frieda Harris, along with commentary by Stuart R. Kaplan.

Traditional titles are used for the Trumps (Major Arcana), with the following exceptions: Magus (Magician), Adjustment (Justice), Fortune (The Wheel of Fortune), Lust (Strength), Art (Temperance), and Aeon (Judgment). The four suits are Wands, Cups, Swords, and Disks. The Court Cards are Knight, Queen, Prince and Princess.  The minors do not contain illustrated scenes as in the Rider Waite Smith style. The  image on the card backs is that of the Rose Cross, surrounded by a white border.  Within this cross is represented all 78 cards of the Tarot. The artwork itself shows the influence of both art deco and projective geometry (Rudolf Steiner) instead of the usual straight or curved lines.

Rosetta Tarot

The  name of the deck is referring to the Rosetta Stone, a fragment of an ancient Egyptian granite stele discovered in Rashid (Rosetta) and dating to 196 BC. The slab is inscribed with three identical scripts in Ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs, Demotic text, and Ancient Greek and proved to be the key to decoding the previously unknown Egyptian hieroglyphs. In the same way that the Rosetta stone ties together the languages of these cultures, the Rosetta Tarot is intended to combine  Egyptian symbolism and Greek mythologies with alchemical symbolism.

The cards measure 7.1 cm x 11.2 cm. The backs of the cards are reversible and the background is a dark blue. They feature a red rose and a cross design that represent the four elements.

The major arcana show the title at the bottom of the card and the number, in Roman numerals, at the top. The court cards show the title at the bottom. The minor arcana have the number and suit at the top of the card and the titles (same as in the Thoth Tarot ) at the bottom.

The suits are Wands, Cups, Swords and Disks. The Major Arcana have titles that match Aleister Crowley’s Thoth Deck.   Adjustment (Justice ) is number 8 and Lust (Strength ) is number 11. The Court cards are titled Princess, Prince, Queen and Knight. Wands are associated with fire and Swords with air.  Most of the minor arcana cards are closely based on the Thoth symbolism with some slight variations.

The artist has chosen different mediums for each of the suits, which shall represent the spirit of the particular suit. The major arcana have been done in acrylic paint, for the suit of Wands she used a combination of coloured pencil and acrylic paint, the suit of Cups are done in watercolour, water-based ink and acrylic, the suit of Swords use a dry-point etching technique and acrylic, and for the suit of Disks it's oil pigments and acrylic.

The cards are packaged in a fold out box that opens on the horizontal. The box also contains an informative 56 page LWB. There is a face card that is numbered as one of 777 and signed by the artist. Mine is number 137. Also included is an extra card with my name in hieroglyphs.

The artist claimes to have dismantled every single card according to the numeric system of kabbalah and taken into account the signification of the runes, angel cards, power animals and their respective colour symbolism.

Lending heavily from the Abstract art movement (particularly the style of Salvador Dali) this results in 80 works of art, painted in oil on canvas.
